Hi Guys,

I recently tried to install Linux Ubuntu but it didin't work well. So I deleted all the partitions and made a clean windows 7 install. Everything works just fine. Before the windows installation there was a weird bootloader starts at first. Here's the picture. After I installed windows I looked at my bios settings and in the boot menu I still had Ubuntu. I used recovery cd and did a console command which is "bootsect /nt60 all". But it is still there. How can I delete this without doing any formatting, reinstalling.

Hello ExpDisease,

are you sure the screenshot is from your BIOS? It looks to me like a bootloader left over from Ubuntu that's running before Windows 7's own bootloader.

You might try the bootsect /nt60 all /mbr command (with the added /mbr option) to actually rewrite the MBR as well, but I'm not sure that'll really do the job.

Just to get a better picture of things, could you also take a snapshot of your (maximized) Disk Management window and post it here?

Is there a option to delete the boot menu entry?
You may need to check your uEFI BIOS manual.

Nope that's the bootloader but I don't think it's a ubuntu bootloader. The bios order menu is the same as that picture. It says shift + 1 to disable an item but it doesn't work. I can't resize the disk management window if I do only resizing trails are appearing. I don't have any other hdd so it doesn't matter anyway. I tried the bootsect command now but it didin't work. I think I should set computer to factory settings but I will lose everything. By the way easyBCD only sees windows 7..

That doesn't look like the normal grub (or grub2) menu (the boot loader/menu installed with ubuntu). But I never heard of ubuntu changing the BIOS boot menu...

Can you reset your BIOS to defaults?

Edit: what do you see if you disconnect the hard drive and turn on the machine?

Dual-boot with Linux.
I'm not surprised EasyBCD only sees Windows 7 - because I didn't think the Ubuntu boot menu was part of the boot entries stored in Windows 7's own boot manager.

Still not quite clear on whether this is a boot loader that runs after the BIOS completes startup but before Windows starts booting, or if you're really saying it's a BIOS-provided boot menu.

That would surprise me as much as flemur13013...

Is there a option to move the boot menu entry Ubnuntu? If yes.
Try moving to entry No 4.
You may need to check your uEFI BIOS manual.

Do you have anything else plugged in, like a flash stick with Ubuntu on it? Unplug all peripherals.

Then reset the BIOS to optimal defaults.

If Ubuntu remains on BIOS Boot Menu, enter BIOS setup to move it out of first boot position, put your WIn7 HD there.
