I have been told its garbage and it helps gaming? with a better one I plan on upgrading this weekend to this but wouldnt it figure with my luck in the few places they have it in limited stock its where I live... but ill call tomorrow and maybe they'll reserve it for me but I doubt it

That CPU is OK - for 65nm model. It is a bit shy on L2 cache (only 1GB in lieu of 2GB). For a bit more money you could get this one which fits your socket.
