My Ctrl key function became a left mouse click

For some reason, every time I press the ctrl key, the function becomes the left mouse button click. For example, when I hover the mouse on a icon and press ctrl, it opens the application. In game, when I press ctrl I fire the gun. I tried:

-tried different keyboard and mouse - both USB and ps/2
-reinstalled drivers
-rebooted
-virus and spyware and both clean

I don't know what to do right now but this isn't too big of an issue but it is pretty annoying when I try to play shooting games and try to crouch it fires all my ammo. Also one other thing is that I can't do ctrl+c copy because after i select something and press ctrl it clicks and deselects it.
