Right, so I have a dell Inspiron laptop it was fine and then I turned it off for the night and when I went to turn it on the next day it froze on the starting windows screen and has done this every time I have started it up. Nothing has fixed it, I have tried every but a reinstallation desk or similar and taking it to a professional. Please help thanks

Press F8 BEFORE windows starts to load. See if it will run in Safe Mode.

Startup Repair is another option. I think Dell includes this in the recovery panel, accessed by F8 at Power One.

Reboot and tap the F12 key to try to run Dell Hardware Diagnostics from F12 Menu.
Report back results.

If it won't run reboot and tap the F1 or F2 key to enter BIOS setup, see if you can find the hard drive listed under Storage devices or in the BIOS Boot order. If it's not there then it may have failed. See if you can reseat it in its bay on the underside to try to get it detected, or replace it and do a Clean Reinstall Windows 7.

If the HD is present then work through the steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start starting with the hardware tests.

I have tried both of the above and I can get into the menu's but neither work when I start up again after adjusting little things to try to get it to boot up, it does not work it continues to freeze
