Solved My desktop icons do not show their default image (Adobe PDF)

This is a general query to those in the know; my desktop icons are showing images of their contents (actual pictures vs. default icon) or the text of the document that the shortcut points to.

This has been happening for a while now, but I can't reset them to their default icons.

Can anyone explain this to me AND possibly suggest a fix / reset procedure to help me fix it.

Hi you could try rebuilding the icon cache http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/49819-icon-cache-rebuild.html

Try in Folder Options-View-check "Always show icons, never thumbnails".
