I was relocating the my documents folder to another Partition on my hard drive and accidently set it as the drive!

So if i now click My Documents on the start menu it opens the partition instead of My Documents!!!

How do I change this back?

Thank you soooo much for all your help and ideas I will be giving REP

If that does not work, how about using windows easy transfer. Go to microsoft.com. Find windows easy transfer and just make the transfer. It should work.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/windows-easy-transfer

It is intended to be used when transferring from Vista to 7, but it should work from one partiton to another. In the future, have a back up system image. If you had one made you could just install and you would be good.

You can try a system restore, that will put everything back the way it was.

ok. It was easy. :) (Fortunately I didn't screw up my own system.. lol)

Right click the drive you are being redirected.
There are now Tab "locations"
Click on restore defaults.
And Yes.

EDIT: I hope you were in Administrator account, on Limited User there are some more trouble.
But first try this if dosen't work post, I will write how to do it.

ok. Now.

Do the same thing but when it asks "do you want move all files inside it or something like that" answer NO

It will move redirection to the default place C:/users/user/My documents.
BUT it will leave most of the files and folder you had inside of your My document lying on the place where it is.
So you had to move them manually.
Just check that Drive and put all folders on exact locations.

Or easier method.
Do system restore (if you have some system restore points which are not very old) as Richard recommended.
