My .exe's wont open, and i dont know why.

For a few weeks now, I have had a problem trying to open some .exe files, but when i double click them, or run as administrator nothing happens, no error reports pop up, even if i wait for a bit longer they wont open and i am wondering why this has happened because this is a fairly new laptop, not pre-owned, and its really not helping me as i need to use certain .exe files for editing software, but as i said they wont work.

Hello RockStar, you tried the .exe and .lnk registry but nothing worked ? If so, I would suggest you to try

If not, Try to run the desired program by double clicking it. Now open task manager , right click on the task bar and select "start task manager" from the context menu, go to the processes tab and see if that program is running or not. Most probably it is there.

If not, you may need to reinstall the program.

If yes, kill the program in task manager, try to set the windows basic theme and try to open the program again . Does it work now ?
