Hello,
I've been using an integrated video card for a while, then i figured it's time to buy a new GPU. So I've bought a Gainward GeForce GT 610 2GB. I installed it but it didn't work at the beginning... Then I've found something telling me that i have to disable the onboard card first. I went to BIOS and I set it to PCI Ex. The new GPu worked fine for about 3 days, then started showing the No Signal error again ( shows "No Signal" message for 4-5 times then the screen goes black and the led turns orange), so i tried switching to PCi Ex again from BIOS but this time won't work. I don't know what the problem may be since the card was working fine yesterday. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Well, i just changed the settings to read my dedicated GPU first instead of the onboard card by going to Advanced and there you should have some options like PCI Slot/Onboard/PCI Ex, and that's it.

Have you checked the video connector to make sure it hasn't worked it's way loose? Check the video connector on the monitor as well. You may have dislodged it when putting in the new card.

Usually a not seen video card is:

1. BIOS setting set to use on-board and not even look for it. [CMOS battery dead could be cause of resetting it to off]

2. Video card not in the slot correctly.

3. Dirty slot or the video card connectors are dirty, rubber eraser can be used gently to clean it.

4. Broken video card, tell tale sign: fan on it doesn't even spin on power up.

5. Broken motherboard component

6. Power connectors required not attached to the power supply

7. Power Supply is too weak to power the card

Look in BIOS and see if the card is recognized there. You also have to install the drivers for the card in the OS. Go to device manager and expand it and see if your card is recognized. If it says standard VGA Adapter, it is using on board graphics. It should show and identify your card, as the screenshot below does. Just because the fan turns does not mean the card is working. Make sure all necessary cables are connected and fully seated. Even 1/16th " can make a difference. Some cheaper brands of PSUs do not put out what they claim to put out. If you have multiple 12V rails, how many amps are on each rail and what else is connected to that rail and see how many amps your card needs. Your drivers have to be installed for the card to be recognized in device manager. They can be downloaded from Nvidia, for Nvidia cards or AMD for AMD cards.. Make sure all drivers from previous cards are cleaned out of your system as much as possible.

You can try a system restore back to a time when it did work http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html

Failing that, boot into Windows and you'll have to break this tutorial into 2 parts. Uninstall the drivers as it describes in the tutorial, but instead of restarting, shut down. Connect your monitor to the graphics card, make sure your monitor is set to the type of input it will receive (HDMI, DVI or VGA) depending on your cable type. Restart the computer and go through the install procedure as in the tutorial (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/327414-nvidia-drivers-avoid-problems.html) If you had an AMD card before, uninstall all AMD drivers and CCC you can before you uninstall the Nvidia drivers. If it still does not work, I would think you have a bad card or bad PSU. You can try to use another card or borrow one from a friend. You try his and have him try yours. That should confirm whether the card is bad or something else is the problem with your computer.

I don't think i can restore because i reinstalled my Windows recently, after my card wasn't working. I already tried with another card and still the same problem, I'm thinking that the PCI slot may be faulty or maybe the motherboard is too old for a GT 610?

The card is supposed to be backward compatible with PCIe 2.0, so I wouldn't think that. The pcie slot being bad is possible. If you have another pcie X16 slot, try it. Is it recognized in BIOS? If it is, the motherboard recognizes it, so I wouldn't think it was the slot. Other than that, I'm running out of ideas.

the +5V and the +3.3V look good to me, I didn't see the +12V which is more important. Try to get the readings in BIOS as those are the most accurate. ATX Standards is +/- 5% of the rated values, if you want to know. But, it's more important to see what they are under stress. I noticed your CPU temp is 55C. I think that is close to your max, which I think is 62C, although I'm not totally sure about that. Core Temp and Real Temp will tell you what max is. They are both free, but as always, watch out for the junk they try to get you to download with them. Just unselect them. Please monitor your CPU temps for a while. I wouldn't let them get within 10C of the max. Software readings are notoriously wrong.
