My NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti overheating while playing games

My graphic card could run every game until a month ago without any problems. But a moth ago it started to overheat on games like AC III and the picture was very laggy and the fan was making very loud noises, I`m not really a expert on computers so I`m here for a opinion on what should I do. Here is to understand the problem some pictures of my temperatures:

The first one is while playing Fifa 13, and I even adjusted my visual settings for best performance.
The second one is on my normal settings when I wasn`t doing anything.
Thanks to anyone who would like to give me some advice on what to do

That's not good to ever have a card go over 90C. If it's still under warranty then replace it.

Else have you tried Precision X to control the fan speeds?

holy crap! 200F thats insane! fyi, my gtx 560Ti at load never reaches 61c overclocked.

I always thought a GPU could run at 150 and generally hotter than CPU.

best bet is to clean out your computer and gpu fans of dust etc. and maybe even replace the thermal paste on the gpu

This card has a threshold of 95 degrees C and shuts down to protect it - I have the same card and started experience the exact same issue with newer games with demanding graphics.

Have you overclocked your card????

I resolved the issue by installing MSI Afterburner and Konbustor, and reduced the core clock and memory clock of the GPU until the Kombustor test stopped crashing the card. Had to reduce core to 850mhz and memory clock to 1350. My card now runs a 80C when playing graphic demanding games, and around 50C normally. The spec for this card is 900mhz for the core clock, so not too much performance will be lost.

The low fan rpm is a indication the fan is dieing. The Zalman VF900-Cu is an excellent alternative to the stock cooler on your VGA card. You can find new/old stock on evil bay for around $20. I installed one on my old 9800gt and it holds temps to around 72*C at 100%.

Under clocking as the above poster suggested is also a option. Older cards with the newest games run hot, GPU's can handle a lot more temp than your CPU but when you start getting above 80*C you are generating a lot of heat inside the case and it well effect the temps of the other components.
