Solved My PC keeps shutting down while trying to install Windows 7

I have a new built computer and windows 7 will not install because the PC keeps shutting down unexpectedly before it will. It gets to the black screen 'windows is loading files' and it generally shuts down when that gets to 100%. Sometimes it will get to the windows wallpaper screen, but then will shut down after a couple of minutes. Any suggestions please??

You do not say if you are installing 32 or 64 bit Windows. If it is 64, you need to be sure your PC can handle it. Please fill in your system specs by clicking on the System Specs in the lower left of your first message. What were you running before, Vista or XP? Was it 32 or 64?

Reseat your RAM, test the RAM, and remove all but 2gb to try install.

What is the SATA controller setting in BIOS?

Check all ofyour cable connections and make sure hardware registers correctly in BIOS and that BIOS is the latest version.

Please fill out your system specs, so we know what hardware you have.

Do you have another machine you can plug your HD into, unplug any other HD's during install, then after it starts up go into Device Manager to uninstall all major drivers (SATA controller, Display, CPU, Network, Sound, etc) but don't restart just shutdown and move HD back to problem machine.

If it fails to start, try booting into Safe Mode to install drivers, or try Startup Repair from booted Win7 DVD Repair console.

this is a fresh install on a brand new comp, no other comp to do tests with
