my remote won't work

Do you have a sensor for the remote?? Is it a remote for TV tuner?? Or did you install the remote's setup that should come with your TV tuner. You mentioned your dv4-2160 and this is what came out:

are you using the remote with WMC or something else? My dv6519tx remote works with WMC and WMP without any software installed. Are you sure the battery is not flat in the remote?
