My Shockwave keeps stopping

I use Firefox 23.0.1 and only a few minutes in to having my browser open, I get a message saying that Shockwave seems to have stopped working, continue or stop. If I click continue it locks up Firefox almost immediately, if I click stop I can keep going for a while, but I get another of the same message.
I have enabled Shockwave on Firefox. I installed a new version of Shockwave. I used the Adobe uninstaller and it uninstalled my Flash Player, then I used the Adobe site to check if I had any version of shockwave installed, and it saw none. So I reinstalled shockwave.
I still get the same message and now I can't reinstall Flash Player.
Any suggestions?

Do you open a website (whitin those several minutes) that heavely uses flash?
Or youtube?
Have you turned off hardware accelaration Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems | Firefox Help
Does this problem occur with other browsers?

I've tried the Firefox help, that is where I discovered where to check the add-ons. My monitor has no accelerator setting available. I have a single background, but no screen saver enabled.
I check IE and it is causes the problem and is affected by it.
This is more of what it says: Shockwave Flash maybe busy, or may have stopped responding. You can stop the plug-in now, or...
I have only been checking my email. No games or youtube or anything like that.
