Upinya!
Hey guys!

So like the title says, my mouse pointer is always showing the blue circle/hourglass thing like it is "thinking". I cant figure out why this is happening, as nothing new has been installed or changed. It has been doing this for the past week or so only. I have tried restarts, etc. but to no avail.

Any thoughts on this strange issue?? Thanks in advance!!

Select "CTRL + Shift + Esc" on your keyboard. Task Manager opens for you to view the following: Applications, Processes, Services, Performance, Networking and Users. Go to the processes to see what is running. If you see something that should not be running you can turn it off.

Which Internet Security, Malware, and Spyware programs are you currently using?

Do you use CCleaner?

Which program do you use for defragmentation?

I use MS Security essentials.
I do not use CCleaner.
For defrag, I use the native Windows defrag in the CP.

Thanks..

MSE is fine for now. However, there are better free Antivirus programs available which provide a stronger defense.

If you have already scanned with MSE and found nothing. The next step would be to check for Malware or Spyware.

Download Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware, update, scan and remove what they find.

Download CCleaner Analyze, then Run Cleaner. Next, click the Registry button. Scan for issues, select, Fix Selected Issues. Then select, Fix All Selected. Run the Registry cleaner a few times until it no longer finds anything. During this process you will have the option to backup.

Download Auslogics Disk Defrag run defrag on the first pass. Then, click on the down arrow at the right of the defrag button. Select defrag and optimize. This will take awhile, so be patient.

Afterwards let us know how the PC is running, so far.

Same problem

I've tried "everything" don't know what to do next.

Not only does the little "loading" or "updating" symbol continually start and stop for a second, but also my full screen videos periodically minimize back to the start screen. If I use Chrome instead of Firefox, I can at least get it down to just the taskbar popping up behind the screen.

But what's going on?

Note: I've tried updating Firefox, I've tried running anti-virus, anti-malware AND CCleaner. I've defragged and cleaned the registry.

Me too circling blue wheel

The blue wheel of death. It shows up and then, right before I destroy the computer, it stops. I'm now running with minimum AV and malware protection and security settings and it *still* wastes an astounding amount of time. No error message. Glary utilities pronounces me clean. And then, there it is again. It does seem to coincide with Chrome use. Could this be war?

Found it!

My problem was solved by going to "choose how to report problems" and then "never check for solutions."

No more circle! (except when "really" thinking, but not in the middle of streaming)
