My TV can't find my media files

I have setup my Win 7 HP 64 laptop to stream files to a Panasonic viera TV. I can play all the samples, music, video and pictures but although I've added a lot of my own media files into Media Player my TV doesn't see them.

I'm obviously doing something wrong, is there a tutorial to explain this?

Thanks.

Our Viera will only play MP4 and AVCHD - it SAYS! Turned out it won't play anything converted to AVCHD (i.e. m2t files converted from other formats), just the raw m2ts files from our HD video camera. You could try a firmware update?

Two LG Blu Ray burners; one is much newer but I didn't know what to do with the old one and there was a spare slot in my case, so they sit there together. 1 bank of card readers and USB ports below Blu Rays.
I think I have probably found the answer. I made each folder 'shared' and now the Viera can see my files!

I wrote to Panasonic asking for a full user manual and they emailed me a copy of the booklet that came with the TV. I thought there would have been a full user manual. It doesn't tell me what video formats it can handle. There is no firmware update yet.
Thanks.

I just got the e-Help for my Viera, listing video formats.

Thanks for your info.
