My windows 7 didn't come with a rec. playback option....Help!!!!!!!!!!

I constantly stream movies but since I purchased my new Sony, I do not have a record playback feature that I use to have. All I have is my internal microphone. This of course does not work when streaming due the fact that you can hear outside noises, and the sounds is also terrible when using this feature. I went to my control panel and to the record and sound tab and there is nothing in the record tab but the microphone. I also checked the disabled/hidden and once more nothing is there. Is there anything I can download to fix this? Thanks

If it's not there you might try figuring out exactly what sound hardware you have and then go to the manufacturers website (The sound chip, not Sony) and download the latest sound driver for it.

The "Record what you hear" or "Record Stereo Mix" options are generally hardware/driver based and a lot of stock hardware/drivers do not have the option.

It is generally (though not always) reserved for slightly higher end audio hardware.

Try older drivers, including Vista.

Try installing in "compatibility mode".

If that fails, you will probably have to buy another sound card known to support "what you hear" recording---possibly external USB.

Recording what you hear in Win 7 has been deliberately made more difficult--a choice made by those who make the sound cards.
