Hello. I'm running win7 home premium 64 bit. I connect to internet through a wireless connection using a router with my daughters computer elsewhere in our home. I only need access to wireless printer in another room. I dont want to share files, pictures, etc. But I view the internet access box at lower right screen task bar and it shows 20 names and numbers etc. I know my neighbor is probably in range and hope he cant use my connection for access. but what are all the rest of the displayed connections and how do I remove them? Thanks.

It's a radio it's going to pick up other stations not much you can do about that, Yes you neighbor will see your see your WiFi network name but as long as your using WPA2 security with AES encryption and long un-guessible password he/she will not be able to connect to you, Also turn off off WPS if your router is older than 4 or 5 years old.

If you want to "hide" your connection, you can give it a non-descript name, such as "footballfan". They won't know for sure who that is. But if your name is Joe, and you call your network "JoesHouse", it will be obvious that it is your network. Doing this doesn't make it any less available to anyone, but it does disguise who it belongs to.

As sml156 stated above, you need to have good encryption and a good password to prevent unauthorized people from accessing it.
