Sometimes I click on something and an arrow with a dot on it, or a dot in the middle of two arrows, shows up out of nowhere and the page starts scrolling. It's a minor annoyance, but I'd like to know why this happens and how to avoid it. Thanks!

Lol.... that indicates that page scrolling is enabled... Mine is activated by using the scroll wheel as a button on my mouse.. ;)

You're pressing the mouse scrolly wheel in i.e. the "centre button".
Press it again to remove.
Or when you have that icon, move the mouse up and down to scroll the webpage you're on. It's useful on very Loooooooooooooooooong webpages.

Thanks - I am using a laptop with a track pad. Guess it's one of those things that's just gonna happen. Didn't get that in XP.
