Mystery disk Q:

Don't know when this showed up, but I have a disk entry in the Computer folder - assigned Q: - which doesn't exist. There is no physical drive or partition and it doesn't appear in Disk Management. Right clicking on Q: and selecting properties says the drive capacity is zero bytes. Any idea what's going on? Can/should the phantom drive be removed?

Have you ever had a USB stick plugged in?

Or a ram disk?

If it offends you sure. Check the modify date to see when it was added.

Thanks to Derikimo and Logicearth for the replies. I did install the Office 2010 beta on two machines and sure enough they both have a Q: drive now, so that is certainly what is going on.

Uninstall the streaming version of Office 2010. Oh just forget about it...
