At first I thought it was about some weird sacrificial ritual. I admit that I'd never heard of this, so I did have to Google for the answer, although in the spirit of this thread I'm going to leave it for someone who can answer without cheating.

I have to say, though, that those lyrics seem to be as obscure as some of my tenuous links in the Word Association thread.

Funny I am not a huge Leonard Cohen fan but I was watch Closing Time the other day and First we take Manhattan caught my attention

Not sure about the rules Dirtrider. That way, if we get a hard one that nobody can get the thread stops. If people can post new ones then someone else can always go back to an unsolved one and quote it if they know it.
