So I did not know that programs still recognize A and B drives as floppy. Since my old Vista partition was C: I named my Windows 7 partition B:

Now I can't install/update half the programs.

Is there any way that I can rename the B: drive? If not, can I move it (windows 7, boot files, etc) to my other partition X: which is (empty) and bigger than B:?

Thank you

Not clear what you are saying.

Did you install win7 from inside Vista?

Does win7 call itself B when you are booted into it?

This: OSM B: is the primary drive. B: is also recognized as a floppy drive for some reason

No, you can't change that sucessfully.

You would need to reinstall.

Moving it to another partition won't help - you will need to retain o/s registry letter B even on another partition.
