Napster freezes Windows 7

I tried napster for the first time today since installing windows 7. I was getting a message that said "Unable to access your track information. Restart napster or your computer." (Paraphrased) I restarted both and it wouldn't work. So I uninstalled Napster and reinstalled it from their website. Now when I try to open Napster, the splash screen comes up and it freezes my computer completely.

I've tried running it in compatibility mode and get the same problem. I end up having to do a hard boot.

Any ideas?? This is my most used program, not to mentioned I paid for the subscription already and use it for my mp3 player.

PS this is for the actual software not the browser based program.

I have read else where that it works for other users with Windows 7. So I contacted Microsoft today thinking it was a problem with my Windows since it works for others. They told me they do not recommend users using Napster and couldn't help - which bothered me to no end. Regardless, I need it to work because my daughter uses it for her Sony Walkman MP3 player which is Napster to Go compatable.

Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

sorry if my english is not as good as your's...

I had the same problem with Napster an Windows 7. Everytime when the splash screen comes up, napster freezes Windows 7 and I had to hard boot.

Some minutes ago I fixed the problem:
1. Uninstall Napster and all its component on your Computer!
2. Download the latest version of Napster from napster.com
3. Install Napster by using the "user-defined installation type" (or whatever its called in english...)
4. Chosse another folder for your own music than napster wants
5. Cancel the installation when it gets to the cd burning software installation!!

Thats all. It fixed my problem and I hope I was able to help you!
