If its name was NorthBridge Drivers, I would understand.

What does 'filter' drivers mean?

I can't give you a screen-shot because it shows up on the installation screen. Oops! Wrong...
It calls them: NorthBridge Filter Drivers (?!!)

I'm just an old, confused man...
What the heck is 'filter'?
