Hi,
I've had windows 7 test build 7077 on my NC10 for ages and I've finally got around to upgrading it.
I made a usb bootable flash drive with win7 ultimate on it, boot into the setup. Delete the partiton, try to install.. but I get the lovely "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition"!
I've formated my drive to NTFS, i've made the partition active, I've done everything I could find but it still doesnt work. I have Disk 0 Partition 1 with 149gb free (its the only partition there in the list).

As I've said I've tried everything :(! Really getting annoyied at this. Any help?

Welcome!

Try these commands from Diskpart. I am assuming you already know a bit about it.

List disk

select disk #

clean

create partition primary

select partition 1

format fs=ntfs quick

That should do it. Now try installing Windows.

Well I've given you all the tips I know. :(

Now I will have to play around and do trial-and-error and see if something works.

Try cleaning the disk via diskpart, then starting setup. Don''t create a new partition or format at all. Simply click Next.

Hopefully that will do it.

Okay, try pulling out the hard drive and sticking it in whatever machine you are using now. Then try running setup.exe from Windows and booting from the drive, in that order.

Then put the hard drive back in and hope it boots up okay.
