I usually only get around 15-20 mbps on the internet speed test. but i got this today.

You don't happen to be on comcast do you? They recently started upgrading lines to new "Blast" speeds.

I have a 12M/2M line, which usually runs at 6M/2M (12M is the "Boost" speeds which you only get for a second or two). A few weeks ago I started getting 12M speeds all the time.

you guys have speeds i can only dream of.... even with ADSL2 going live on my exchange next week the best i can expect to see is 7Mb/1Mb whereas atm its 4.5Mb/445Kb

There is no need to dream, you do have two options 1) move to a cable area 2) wait for BT infinity - BT Infinity – Super fast broadband with a fibre optic Internet connection

i only recently moved away from VM with their shockingly bad ADSL service, even if i moved to a cable area, not sure id go back to them, once bitten twice shy and all that.... and i doubt BT infinity will be coming to little Ol' Cromer any time soon

i went with them because they were offering unlimited downloads with no fair usage policy, for the same price i was already paying, turns out it was too good to be true.... they got massively over subscribed and started throttling everyone down to 0.5Mb/s in the evenings, there is a massive thread about it over on their forums, now im with Plusnet, and get 80GB/month and anything i download between midnight and 8am doesnt count towards it very happy
