Need a fix for my computer issue

I have no idea on how else to explain my issue other than my entire computer will randomly start to lag and my computer makes a sound like this..eeeeeeeeeeeee ackckakck eeeeeeeee. When this happens my computer usage goes down. Please help!

i think the OP could do with a little more info guys,

Owen could you update your system specs via the user cp , use this tutorial to help you find the specs.

there will be more thorough answers when we know about your system as to what kind of hard drive you need to purchase etc.
if indeed it is a bad hard drive,
there must be some diagnostics you can run to test it, its not my area of expertise so i stand aside for the experts...

It sounds like a hard drive issue. You can download test software from;
