Well, I was redirected from my thread here and thanks to a bunch of BIOS freezes and BSODs I'm in need of a new motherboard.

At the moment I have a BIOSTAR TA790GXB3 motherboard that worked for around 6ish months before starting to act up(Blue screens, BIOS freezes, you name it), and I've decided I'm either going to get a new motherboard or get Biostar to replace my current one. The question is, what should I do? Should I go with replacing the Biostar board with a replacement from Biostar and be worried it may or may not have the same problems as the one I have now, or should I get a new one?

If the latter, I'm looking at this board:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130590
It has to be no more than $100(and preferably less if possible)

I need something that will be able to use my 5770 on it, OC my i2 to an i4, and Crossfire(Or was it SLI? I never get the term correctly.) another 5770 later on with it. Oh, and I have a 550w PSU it needs to work with as well.

Considering your budget, I don't know what motherboard to recommend, however whatever you decide, I definitely would not recommend buying a MSI motherboard. I've had a bunch of them, and none were any good. I've never owned a Biostar, but considering their price range, I wouldn't expect them to be much better. I would strongly recommend stretching the budget a bit, and go for a good quality Asus motherboard instead.

Pesonally take it back, see if you can get it replaced, not sure what your warranty situation is with the overclocks though.
If you have ATI GPU's it's crossfire, if you have Nvidia then it's SLI.

I can get it replaced, it has a three year warranty last I checked, and the version of motherboard I had wouldn't let me OC my i2 into an i4, so that wouldn't be a problem.

Well, looking on Newegg I found this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131651

$100 is as high as I can go though, we're a bit tight on money at the moment(Doctor bills and so forth) and I can't return the Motherboard back to Newegg or get a refund from Biostar, so the only option aside from getting the Biostar fixed and worrying about it Blue screening again, it's getting a good motherboard.

I don't specifically know that model of Asus, but if it fit your specification needs, and you preferred not to RMA the Biostar, I would go for it.

shame you cant return the board to newegg, if they did except it back maybe they would be prepared to exchange it for the Asus, go for it
