Need a quick help with cooking something

Hey guys, I'm in the middle of making something and I need 1 cup of evaporated milk, though I don't have access to any nor money to buy it, would anyone know how to make it using Whole milk?

I looked on google but I kept getting results for how to make it using powdered milk.

2 1/4 cups whole milk, gently simmered until it is reduced to 1 cup should work

( used to own a recipe forum lol )

all evaporated milk is, is normal milk that has half the amount of water in it so its twice as strong as normal milk

you could even do half whipping cream and half whole milk

Actually eHow confused me. So I just read both eHow and the poster above yourself, and just compared.

that's good, it means that while you are simmering it, you can add a little sugar to help thicken it up a little more

Thanks Jacee, I actually only had Whole Milk handy.

I've been cooking a lot more lately getting a 'feel' for it. This year I'm cooking the thanksgiving dinner.
