I'm going to be completely wipe my laptop harddrive and reinstall windows. My harddrive has two partitions right now, a windows partition and an Ubuntu partition. I want to:

1. Format Ubuntu Partition
2. Format windows partition
2. reinstall windows

Is there anything I have to be aware of in regards to the dual boot? If I simply go into my computer and format the Ubuntu partition from there, will I then be able to boot my machine like normal and have it go straight to windows? Because when I initially start up the machine, it gives me a choice to pick Windows or Ubuntu in DOS. So I am wondering there is anything else I need to get rid of before I proceed. If you need any more information just let me know!

Thanks!

As this is a Dell follow these steps for http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164 taking note of the Special Note for Dell Owners at the end.

During booted install delete all partitions except the Dell OEM tools partition, providing it will still boot and run http://www.pchelpforum.com/xf/threa...l-diagnostics-utility-error-code-list.122044/. Test that now. It is a useful tool to keep. The Recovery partition will no longer run, however.

You will get and keep a perfect install to the exact extend you use the tools and methods in the tutorial.

Thank you very much! So I have another quick question. It's been almost four years since I got this laptop and I can't seem to find the recovery disk I made for it. How screwed am I? End of the world? Or can I just proceed without it?
