intel core 2 quad q6600 2.4 Ghz

motherboard gmx946 s2
2GB ram
500 Gb hdd
400w psu
my budged is limited up to 100 euros and need advise about what should upgrade in my system to avoid bottlenecking
this mobo supports up to 2gb and i think thats my main problem can you find me a good mobo that can support my other components and add 2 more gigs of ram up to 100 euros? or is there something else i need to change (i use mostly my pc for movies or for low requirments games(mw2-aion-leagueoflegends))

My suggestions;

1 mobo - a morderm mobo that uses DDR3
2 RAM - DDR3 RAM
3 PSU - at leaset 500 watt but would think 750 watts for future proofing

Definitely start with a new mobo. For your 100 euros you can get a decent mobo and some DDR3 RAM. Keep in mind with the new mobo it will have to have the same socket for your current CPU.

I wondered how easy it was to buy a new Socket 775 board that supports DDR3. Turns out that there are a few:

Newegg.com - Computer Hardware, Motherboards, Intel Motherboards, LGA 775, DDR3 1333, DDR3 1066, DDR3 1600, DDR3 1800, DDR3 1333 / DDR2 1066, DDR3 20...

(They're all G41 microATX boards.) Considering the current price difference between DDR2 and DDR3 (DDR3 is much cheaper), upgrading the motherboard would be worthwhile, if you can live with microATX. (The main limitation to microATX is in card slots.)

I'm not sure that what is mainly a memory upgrade will help you a lot, but if you limit things to £100, you won't be buying a new system.
