Need An Upgrade

Hello guys i have now notice my Graphics card has been my problem to all my games not working i have an X800 GT whic is very old right?

anyway i need an upgrade but what to . i still want ATI and i have a PCI-Exspress

any idears on what to get . i have a few cards i am looking at but im not soo sure yet :\

Informed opinion would suggest that the ATI Radeon HD 5970 is pretty good but it depends rather on your budget! I have to say that I have no personal experience of high end graphic cards but at around 530 pounds it would be way beyond my means. But then I am not into gaming so have no need!
BTW I see you are in the UK but are you aware that your timezone shows you to be in the USA!

And agree with your recommendations, as long as it is PCI-E and not AGP and the power supply is up to it.

ok if its pci-e all you need to worry about is your psu wattage.... actually all we really need to know is the number of amps on the 12+ rail, which should be on the label on the side of your psu

With that card as long as your CPU doesn't hold it back too much, depending on what resolution you run at it should be good for a mix medium and low (low due to the CPU more than the card),

which is far better than your old card which can't even run it.

i didnt reilise how old my card actually was untill to day i still thought it was a good card but bearing in mind i have not upgraded anything in my pc since the start of 2008

just tryed it out but its a DOA card is running but not booting my pc . the card is stoping the pc from booting . argh have 2 send it back
