Hello:

With desperation I cannot setup a VPN. I'm running Windows 7 (x64) with a Dlink DIR-825 Router. A incoming host connection ( Server) is setup but when attempt to connect from my laptop it comes up with an Error #800.

Other software installed for security are:

- Webroot Security Essentials 2012
- Norton Internet Security 2012

Thanks for any input, I've put in long hours and research attempting to resolve this issue.

Thank you very much for the step by step guide, however I'm still unable to connect. This is totally frustrating.

Error #800 yet again.

Your issue maybe your router... no mention of being VPN capable on the D-Link website. D-Link Xtreme N Dual Band Gigabit Router
Its been years since I set a VPN up... but I had to use a VPN capable router! You may check with ddwrt or OpenWRT and see if that model Dlink will run their firmware, it may add VPN ablility to it for free!
