Need free app to protect my Startup.

My free Webroot Spy Sweeper will expire soon.
I need another free app to notify me about Startup changes and possibly Registry changes.

I have 2 PCs - XP and Windows 7.

My anti-virus for both is AVG free and I do not want to replace it. I am very used to it after so many years.

Any advice.....?

Uninstall AVG.
Install MSE (link in my signature).

Why do you think AVG free is not a good anti-virus....?
I've had it for many years and in combination with some other free scanning tools,
all my PCs have been clean. I just do not want to change what is not broken.

But if you give a really good reason to ditch it, I may re-consider it.

I have tried it once many years ago and all I remember that it was really intrusive,
constantly messaging me about something. Is it still so.....?

When you mess a lot with your system, you get a lot of messages. Else no. I use WinPatrol and get maybe 1 message per month.

I use MSE and it works great. Millions and millions of people use it all over the world. What one had good luck for years really doesn't matter in todays fast computer world.
MSE is the first and only free anti virus I have ever used.
Just some free and friendly advise.
