I have searched every where to look for a right USB WiFi adapter for my emachines windows 7 home premium desktop. I currently use ATT uverse internet and I cannot use a cable because the desktop is in another room. Any suggestions on adapters and can you recommend that I can go a cheap route that is efficient or not? Thank you!

I have this adapter:

Amazon.com: NETGEAR N300 Wi-Fi USB Adapter (WNA3100): Computers & Accessories

It is a Netgear N300 Wi-Fi USB Adapter, model number WNA3100. I bought it to use on my eMachines computer. It works very well. One of the main things I like about it is that I have the option of either plugging it directly into the USB port, or plugging it into its stand. By plugging it into its stand, I can position the adapter to get the best signal. (Sometimes the computer will block the signal if the adapter is plugged directly into the computer's USB port.)

You can get this adapter at Amazon.com; it is probably also available in stores in your area.

Right now I'm using an pretty old Rosewill adapter for my laptop since my internal WIFI sucks. It's been rock stable and delivers very high speed over 802.11n. With that I can only vouch for a Rosewill product. Thay don't sell my adapter anymore, but I see this one has decent reviews at Newegg. Rosewill RNX-N150UBE Wireless Adapter (1T1R) IEEE 802.11b/g, IEEE 802.11n Draft 2.0 USB 2.0 Up to 150Mbps Wireless Data Rates 64/128-bit WEP (Hex & ASCII), WPA/WPA2, WPA(TKIP with IEEE 802.1x)/WPA2(AE - Newegg.com

At Amazon it's a different story. It has good reviews, but fake spot indicates there's high deception in the reviews, but the company grade is a B.
