To take advantage of your 4GB of ram you should really Install a 64 Bit version of Windows ...
Your main problem with changing your OS is the Chipset Driver ...
It will be difficult enough getting a Driver for a 64 Bit OS ...
Near impossible to get one for a 32 Bit OS ... Intel will not have any Drivers for your Chipset ... 64 or 32 Bit

1st make a partition to store a disk image of 8 or put an image of 8 on an external.
Then create a partition to install Windows 7
Then install 7 and try try try
this may or may not work, the bios is probably UEFI etc. you would have to create a UEFI Windows 7 installer etc.
I personally don`t think you`ll have any driver issues.
As Maxie suggests, Install 64 bit.
But if you really want to wipe out 8 (I would) turn off secure boot in the bios and set the bios to legacy boot and you shouldn`t have any problems.
Do you have a proper working Windows 7 install DVD ?
There`s also tutorials here on downgrading Windows 8 to Windows 7.

Oh well, that`s a whole nother issue.
Are you trying to play games from 1984 ?
All todays software and games run fine on windows 7 64 bit
999 Billion computers out there run Windows 7 64 bit, it`s the best.
