Hi everyone,

I'm hoping if someone could help me regarding my computer. Well, it was originally my friend's, but he lent it to me as he was going away for a while and can't bring this to where he'll be staying.

Anyway, I've been having problems with it as of yesterday: first with it restarting and freezing up without encountering a BSOD, and then I began to have BSOD occurring every time I'm not running it on Safe mode. I've managed to find this forum and seeing that most of the concerns posted here were resolved, I figured I'd try to seek help here too.

Attached to this post would be the requirements posted in the guidelines as well as the answers to the questions posted. (I tried to answer them to the best of what I know, but I can't contact my friend at the moment to ask about the other details)

- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? x64
- the original installed OS on the system? Can't determine
- an OEM or full retail version? Full retail
- What is the age of system (hardware)? 3 years
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) Can't determine

I hope someone manages to shed some light into this problem. Thanks!

PS:
Would it be OK if the dump and sys file collection app was run in Safe Mode? I can't use it normally without encountering either a freeze, a restart, or a BSOD for too long.

Hello,

You did fine with the file collection app; as far as I know I have all I need!

The dumps point to a hardware cause, but since the BSODs don't occur in Safe Mode, it may be software. Start by installing the ATK01110 driver from the utilities section here: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?model=P7P55D LE&os=30&SLanguage=en-us
Code:
ASACPI.sys Sun Mar 27 22:30:36 2005 (42476C4C)
Install updated Realtek wireless drivers from here: Realtek
Code:
RTL8192su.sys Thu Jun 18 11:28:25 2009 (4A3A5D19)

Run a RAM test, and CPU test if you can.

Thanks Jonathan!

Well, I forgot to mention that I've already ran a RAM test with Memtest86+ earlier (followed the procedure and let it run for at least 7 passes), and the results turned out fine. I'll try to other things you've mentioned and I'll let you know how things work out as soon as I'm done.
