Need help recovering image to dissimilar hardware with True Image 2013

My new computer, arriving soon, will have Windows 7 Home Premium OS, same OS I have on my current (Old) computer. Using True Image 2013, I made image of the entire Old Computer hard drive (I switched to disk mode). I will recover that image to the New Computer, using Universal Restore, from an Acronis Boot CD. (I read somewhere that recovering an image using the CD recovery disk is not the same as recovering the image using the TI program installed on another drive. Is this true? If so, why would it be?)

I assume that the recovery will overwrite the Win 7 OS in the New Computer, leaving the Win 7 OS from the Old Computer. Is this a problem? Will it affect anything? Is the Win 7 OS on the New Computer going to be different, higher version than the old OS? If so, should I do anything about that, like try to upgrade to the latest version/build? Alternative: should I leave the Win 7 system on new computer, yet recover everything else? How do I do that?

The restore doesn't overwrite the OS (per se) but instead, since you did a full disk image, it will replace all the existing partitions on that disk (if any) with the partitions contained in the image backup -- essentially, erasing the entire disk. When done, what you have on that disk will the same as what is in the image backup.

Don't know about Universal Restore, since I use Redeploy from Macrium Reflect (MR) to do the same, but in the MR version, you do the following:
1) Connect the media containing the image
2) Boot from an MR CD (or USB)
3) Restore the image to the new disk
4) Insert disk or USB that contains the drivers needed for the new PC
5) Select the MR option to recover to different hardware -- MR then scans the PC for hardware and devices and installs the drivers from the disk or USB that you provided
6) Remove USB and/or disk, and reboot
7) Will boot into OS with new drivers installed

I presume that Universal Restore from Acronis works much the same way ...
