Solved NEED HELP RESTORING Windows.old

I reinstalled a new version of windows but after doing so realized that none of my drivers or anything came along for the ride. IT'S LIKE STARTING FROM SCRATCH! So I decided then that I didn't want to go through the effort and to my dismay, I realized that I have no restore points or backups from my previous. I tried starting using my windows disc but it never gives me an option to repair so that I can start with the command prompt. If I do it from within my profile, I can't change anything. Somebody please help.

I can't get the command prompt to come up so that I can start that process. There is no screen that has the "repair" link on it. It goes straight from asking for my keyboard input and language to the drive partition stage. I need to know how to pull up the command prompt before windows starts or the CD boots.

Thank you, that worked. The first post about windows.old needs to be ammended. You first need to know what drive yours is stored on. Mine was D: not C: like in the tutorial. Even though, its C: when you are in windows, apparently the raw coding has it differently. Anyhow, problem fixed. Thanks everyone!
