need help setting up a "generic usb joystick"

so i bought a Tomee Wired Controller Wired TOMEE Controller for PS3 PLAYSTATION 3 USB NEW | eBay and the description says that i simply have to plug it in and the software will install by itself. the first time i plugged it it it said installing driver generic usb joystick so i assumed it worked.
im running windows 7 64 bit home premium btw
i tried this controller out of lots of games and after plugging it in the buttons did nothing. i was wondering if there was a special program that i can use? motioninjoy does not support this controller cause its not sixaxis controller, but i dont need it for the ps3, just my pc. when you go into properties and stuff you find a place that shows you what buttons youre pressing on the controller, so i know the computer is recieving the controlls, so i was wondering if there was a program that can translate those botton presses into say, left down up and right, or az,sx,dc etc.
if not, is there any way fo rmy games to work on this controller? remember this controller is not for ps3 but for pc so theres no worries that i need to translate ps3 code to pc code (idk if there even IS such a thing but whatever) thanks

You may have to assign/setup the button functions in the games setup menu. Some games, if they can ID the controller, will do it by default. Seeing as yours just shows up as Generic, you may have to do it the hard way for each game.

TVeblen thats for motioninjoy which i mentioned in the first post that wont work because this is not a ps3 controller. alpha what is the hard way?

The hard way is going into each games setup and manually assigning the button functions. I do it all the time with my Logitech racing wheel because I don't like the default assignments. If the game doesn't see all the buttons there isn't much you can do other than buying a PC controller that windows will support natively.

Don't know, I don't play any of those games. I hope the profiler works out for you. My Logitech Racing Wheel controller comes with a profiler, haven't really used it much though. When I play any of my FPS games I use a Cyber Snipa keypad and my trackball. The Cyber Snipa is just a mini keyboard with most of the keys missing. The ones that are left are grouped for easy use in game. Most FPS games use the same key assignments so I hardly ever have to change anything.

glad to help, i used PGP a few years ago for MWII ,its handy for first person shooters that don't support the 360 gamepad
