Need help testing my script

It only works on x64 because you included a 64-bit explorer executable. Make a separate archive with the same script, but include the x86 explorer.exe instead and it should work fine.

Good idea, thanks.

Are you sure it will work on all Windows 7 64-bit systems, though?
Home Basic, Home Premium, Enterprise, Ultimate, whatnot.

I need someone who runs a 32-bit system to make one for me, btw.
I didn't get the virtual machine thingie to work. =/

I have a virtual machine already running, so just post it here and ill run it.

Basically, the one you already have is fine for any 64-bit version. The one you need to make is for 32-bit. I'll send you an original 32-bit explorer.exe from my virtual Windows 7 Professional machine.

To answer your question, there is no difference between explorer.exe in different versions of Windows, aside from 32-bit and 64-bit.

Works fine in my system. 32 bit Ultimate.
I've replaced the explorer.exe in the archive with mine

I didn't forget. I uploaded it using the attachment button but it didn't attach for some reason, so I uploaded it to Mediafire. Either way, it should work now.

deleted my post pf :) and i've already uploaded a 32 bit explorer.exe

Thanks for the explorer.exe file.
But I can't modify it. (Resource Hacker won't work.)
I can't test to see if it works, either.
Would be great if you could do it for me?

Resource Hacker should work. I have Resource Hacker, walk me through what to do and give me the files you need to me edit.

As of now I only have to change the Start Orb.
I would like to change the textures of the start meny, taskbar and windows as well, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet (or even if they're located in explorer.exe or not.)

I will attach the .bmp file used as Start Orb.

Here's a tutorial how to do it:

It worked! Patching explorer itself was easy, but setting all the permissions to be able to replace it was a pain. After you set it up once though, it works fine. Here's what it looks like. It fades between each orb if you hover over or click it:

Here's the edited Explorer.exe (32-bit): http://www.mediafire.com/?ztmkdzoyzjt

PS: You don't need to restart the computer. Just end the explorer process and start it again.

So this will work for ANY kind of 32-bits Windows 7 OS?
explorer.exe is located in C:\Windows in 32-bit as well, right?

Yes. Explorer is located in C:\Windows for both the 64-bit and 32-bit. You need to enable "Show Hidden Files" in Folder View Options. Follow that video to learn how to do the whole thing.

Ok, so here's the new file. (Attached.)
Would be great if people could test it. (There's one for x86, and one for x64, so I need both systems to test on.) -Just to make sure that it works.

If this works properly I'm done with this part of the theme. =)

Note:
-Make sure you create backups, before running the script. (System restore points, etc.)
-Read the ReadMe.txt file carefully before running the script.
