Shutdown as in how?

BSOD, error message?

Or just restart without any word about a problem?

Assuming you mean a straight out restart, with no errors, this is usually the sign of a PSU going bad.
Or it could be the CPU getting to hot.

I would run Prime 95 stress test and watch the tempratures closely. See what they look like after about 20min.
Unless of course getting to hot then stop it.

If errors, a dmp file would be good so those more experienced w/BSODS can take a look.

8Gigs of RAM in a 32bit system?
You'd be better off with a 64bit OS or remove 4Gigs.

1-Are you overclocking your system to run at 1600 speed?
2-You may have something not set correctly in your bias. IE Voltages or system set at extreme instead of turbo....etc.
3-Have you tampered with the video card settings or are they reset back to normal?

It is sort of hard to determine the problem based on what is given.

He has 2x4GB of Ram on a triple channel mother board.

Okay that will work with the Ram in A1 and B1.

I have the same MB. This is why I asked about the bias settings. It defaults to 1066 but you have to overclock it to run at 1600. I found this caused problems for me when I tried to run it at 1600 for video applications as I did not correctly set up the voltages.

I tiped to fast yesterday the ram is 1x 4gig,so its only 2 rams sticks of 2gig each, and no it doesnt give any error,it just shuts down and restarts, its not the heat of cpu, cause it runs at 27c on idle,i have a big cooler on it,and i didnt change or overclock anything, the 1600 is the speed that the ram goes, like 1333 or 2000 ext. When ever i play a game for 2 or 3 min it shuts down, but i can run a benchmark just fine and do everything else on it without the sutdown. And i have no idea what setting are in the bios
