Okay well I just put together the parts for a new computer, but Windows 7 isn't installing. I put the contents of the DVD onto a flash drive, and the installation worked when I used a different computer, but when I try it with this one, it gets up "Windows is loading files...", and it goes all the way REALLY slowly. Then it says "Starting..." then it gives me the BSOD saying "The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant". I got it to work if I use Joli OS from another USB though. I have a Biostar A770E3 motherboard. Can someone help me? :( Thanks in advance

I don't have Linux on the HD, I used a USB to boot it up. But the stuff you listed above is what I had to do with the USB to make it hold Windows 7.

Edit: Also now it says I have limited runtime for something MPQ or MPS. I forgot what it was exactly though.

Where are you with this now? Has Win7 installed? Post back or google any error messages verbatim for help.

No, it just doesn't install. It gets up to finishing the bar for loading files from the installer, then shows me the BIOS is not ACPI compliant. When I restart (and my computer is really weird; to restart I have to turn off the power supply, wait a few seconds, turn it back on) sometimes it says "Insufficient runtime space for MPS data.!!.System may operate in PIC or Non-MMPS mode. Press 'DEL' to Resume", although pressing the delete button just freezes it.

Can you try installing from DVD to eliminate flash installer as problem?

Are you booting the installer and not running it from an OS? The error you posted up is not known except when running from an OS.

Try resetting the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

Please post back the error messages you're receiving verbatim (word for word) and at what stage they appear in install as sequenced here: Clean Install Windows 7.

Okay, I just tried using the DVD, and it just skipped it and went to linux. When I tried using the DVD on a blank HD, it said bootmgr is missing.

So you do have Linux install. Do a CLEAN ALL. In post 2

I have a linux install now because I wanted to use my computer. But I tried it with a blank hard drive and it still doesn't work. Also, I switched the CD drives and the DVD is working, as in it's loading the files (gets to step one on that clean install guide) but then it still crashes, saying "The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your system vendor for an updated BIOS."

Both the stick and the DVD have worked on another computer (what I did was install Windows 7 onto the hard drive of my really old computer, then use the hard drive for my new one.) But it doesn't load up on the new computer. I formatted the hard drive twice, using this tool I've never seen from the advanced start-up part of Windows 7, and by using another OS to format it but not continuing with the installation. I think there is a newer BIOS update but I don't know how to update my BIOS. :(

Please follow each step given above to eliminate them one-by-one. RAM?

Nothing was said about formatting the HD. Against possible boot sector corruption it must be wiped according to the tutorial linked. The "Clean" command is sufficient.

If these fail, download the latest BIOS update and extract the Read Me file to see if it is clear enough that you want to attempt the BIOS Update. Someone here will help guide you through if necessary, or you can access your mobo tech support or forum to get step-by-step assistance.

You said that you've already run Win7 on this computer which was installed on another computer? If not, this can be done by SysPrepping the OS to remove all drivers before moving it back to problem computer: SysPrep to move HD to another computer. This may be necessary to run BIOS update from Windows which is the safest method.

The RAM works fine, well I think it does, because it's working on another OS. But I think the sysprep thing is the thing I need. I'll try it now, thanks for the info.

Alright I tried the sysprep thing, and it has the load bar which I think is from Vista, then it goes to the blue screen saying "Page fault in non-paged area"

Edit: These are the BIOS updates http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/bios.php?S_ID=450

but can anyone tell me how to update it without an OS?

You get that error when you try to start up HD on the problem machine after installing and SysPrepping it exactly according to the steps in tutorial?

That's a memory error. Did you try removing all but 2gb RAM to try install which was my first step suggested earlier? This often allows install to proceed. Try also swapping RAM.

There is a troubleshooting process to get past installation failures. You really have to work through them. When you skip to the last SysPrep step you may have overlooked something important like the RAM.

Well I only have 2x4GB RAM sticks that fit in this computer. All my other RAM is old and won't fit.

I've tried it with that. Well there's 4 slots in my computer, two are white and two are red. Does it matter which one I use?

The color-coding normally is for RAM sticks installed in pairs. If you only install one RAM stick, install it in the first slot which is the one closest to the Processor.
