need help with new build

i just put together my pc. everything new. i booted it up and tried to install w7 to 500gb internal hd. formatted to ntfs. when i get to the part where i choose where to install it, i get "setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition clean install". both internals are free and formatted. any help.

Does the drive show up in BIOS Setup? If it's a SATA drive, does it require drivers that Windows 7 does not have (unlikely but something to think about).

What happens if you boot the Win 7 DVD to the Recovery Console? Can you see the drive there?

the drive does not show up in bios as a boot option. it is a sata drive
unable to boot to the recovery console

Were the HD's initialized if new?

Try unplugging one of the HD's. Try removing the formatting to let Win7 installer create and format partition.

Remove all but 2gb RAM to try install.
