After upgrading from XP to 7, Device Manager tells me I have a problem with the network controller driver on my Acer notebook. The device is an Atheros AR8131. The Atheros website is of no help; the Acer site directs me to "Driver Detective." I've searched for comments re Driver Detective and they're wildly mixed. I'd appreciate any advice re the most sensible way to update my driver.

Thanks very much.

I found this driver. You may need to run it in Vista compatibility mode.

Problem Resolved

Thank you all for your replies. I downloaded the notebook driver package from the Atheros site, but had trouble opening it. So I tried the "search internet for updated driver" option in Device Manager. It worked, oddly, even though I'd tried this a few weeks ago and gotten nothing. I tried it yesterday because the replies made it pretty clear that the driver was out there. Thanks again.
