The troubling world
Hello everybody! I need a little help here.

My laptop is HP dv2748TX. I upgraded it to Windows 7 Ultimate from Windows Vista Home Premium like maybe 2 months ago.

So, I've got this problem that annoys me a lot and sometimes pisses me of depending on my mood. That problem is, muting and unmuting by itself for a period of time. I'll be having fun watching YouTube or listening to music on iTunes/Windows Media Player when suddenly it just mutes. That's one problem. There other one is, stopping or pausing a video on its own. e.g. Watching Youtube and it pauses by itself a couple of times and I end up closing the tab. eg 2. Watching a DVD on my laptop on Windows Media Player (or any other player) and it just stops not pause, stop. I would play it again and it would stop again.

My brother told me that it could be the Quickplay/Quicktouch buttons. I don't really know what it is called but Google my laptop and you'll see what I mean by this if you don't know. It's the part above the keyboard where there is Quickplay button, a DVD button, Previous, Pause/Play, Next, Stop, Volume mute, Volume 'slider.' I was thinking, maybe he's right.

I Googled for some solution so the people asks to go to somewhere in control panel or msconfig --> startup and find that Quickplay thing and disable or uninstall them but I just can't find it and I'm sure it's beacuse I upgraded to Win7. I look up at my Windows.old folder and there it was, a folder called 'HP Quick Launch buttons' I deleted the folder but it still mute on its own so I just restore it.

Any solution guys? I really hope that there is a solution for this. I just wanna enjoy listening to music and watching YouTube again.

Thanks in advance!

Try going to Hp.com and look in the drivers and support section, see if the Quick Launch Buttons is available under keyboard for your machine.

I really can't do anything with the links above.

Is there a way to just disable this quick touch thing? Well, for one thing, I'm sure it's internal damage though but..

I think that your sound card is overheating from lack of proper ventilation.
Check for that before doing anything else.
Good luck.
