Need help with virus problem on windows 7?

I recently installed windows 7 ultimate on my windows vista (32-bit) and the other day a virus got in my computer and now when i log on it doesn't show my desktop or the task bar. Now the only way i can open my programs is by using task manager. I want to format my computer, but i don't have the cd for it and i was wondering if anyone knows how i can format my computer by using task manager.

In Taskmanager go to Applications tab - New Task and type explorer then hit ok .

Does your desktop/taskbar come back up?
