Need Help with Windows 7 64bit

I have just built a new PC (first time bulding) and it is time to instal the operating system. I am installing Windows 7, but when it gets to the step called "completing installation", the computer reboots, and when it turns back on an error pops up saying that Windows has restarted unexpectedly and must restart to continue installation.

After it restarts, I am set in a loop of trying to install it and it keeps popping up with the same error.

After about 6 times of just trying to install, I finally managed to get past that step and were able to get into Windows. After a short time, I got the blue screen and the computer restarted. Everytime I was on the computer it would restart and the blue screen would come up after five minutes or so.

I tried a clean install, but I get the same error.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know what I can do.

Umm what all do you have install or connected to the computer when you are installing?

Sometimes it helps to only have one ram stick installed...

only the primary hard drive installed and cd rom drive...

simple keyboard and mouse... and nothing else

That is all I have but I do have two sticks of RAM, I will try with only one installed when I have more time tomorrow.

Another thing you should do is a full format of the hard drive. I know your hard drive is very very big but a true format of the NTFS probaby would help... becuase when you do that. It will identify bad sectors if there are any

I thought that Windows formated the drive on the installation...How would I do an NTFS format?

If I am able to load it with only one stick of RAM, when should I put the other back in?

Edit: I was just able to install Windows 7 using only one of the memory sticks, however...after five minutes on the computer, I got another blue screen. I had gone into device manager looking around. I restarted Windows, then shut down normally. Could this possibly be driver related?

On that bluescreen of death, it shoudl be in there and give you a reason why it gave you that bluescreen. it is usually a .DLL file.

can you write taht down and give it to us... usually it is driver related.

When you do a NTFS format.. it is called a regular format.. usually when you instal windows you just hit next but there is a format button in the partioning section of the setup but since you have windows installed then we are good to go.

You can actually put that stick back in now.

we just need to work on the bluescreen now.

Sometimes it could be that you have bad ram or something like that...bad sector of the hard drive but we really need to know what that blue screen error is.
