I've had a hotmail account for years and use it infrequently because of the amount of spam that I receive on the account but I still get a few emails from old contacts that make the hotmail account worth keeping.

The problem is that that the live mail program downloads email from all of my active email accounts (gmail, yahoo and others) without me having added them. The program gets clogged with emails from multiple programs. I want live mail to only download hotmail.

So far I have been unable to find a way to stop live mail from downloading everything. I would appreciate any help.

Do you mean that Live Mail downloads your email from Hot Mail and you don't want it to do that??

I think there may have been a post about that the other day--should be a setting in Live Mail to control that or leave mail on the hot mail server. The setting may be hard to find.

No, it downloads all mail accounts, yahoo, gmail etc. It's ok using WLM for my hotmail account but not all other accounts.

I am not clear on what you want to do, but go to tools / accounts/ and look at the properties tab/advanced for settings about whether or not to leave messages on a server. I think that is where it is.

I agree with ignatzatsonic.

Check account that are configured there. There might be some auto migration that happened which carried your account to WLM

WLM has no way of knowing what your accounts are, unless you transferred them over with easy transfer or some other means. I would start fresh. Go into accounts and eliminate the accounts that you do not want. I doubt if it will contiune do download.
