Hello guys,

I would first of all like to clarify that I am NOT asking for any product keys, or illegal software.

The thing is, the company gave me a new laptop, which came pre-installed with Windows 7 professional. The problem is that its the 32-bit and not the 64-bit version. Since the laptop has 4GB ram, and I would like to utilise all of it (need it for running virtual machines), I'll have to install the 64-bit from scratch.

I have the product key for Win 7 professional, which of course works on both 32-bit and 64-bit installation. But I do not have the installation media for the 64-bit version. Is there any place (perhaps on microsofts website?) that I can download it? I only want the installation media, and NOTHING else.

I actually already have the installation media for the Ultimate version, and I guess I could customize it to install professional, but I do not remember how (at the moment).

First check with your Company,s IT Administrator, who may or may not have a copy, also the Company may class doing this as misuse.

Thanks Bare Foot Kid, I just really only needed the eicfg removal utility. Now I can use the installation media I already have, to install any version of 64-bit Win 7.

theog, I doubt that the company's IT administrator has a copy, because they pretty much leave us to do whatever we want with the pcs that are provided. Getting any software and such is pretty much our own responsibility. I need as much ram as possible because I'm going to run a few Win Server 2008 and a couple of Win 7 clients for various testing purposes.

Although you have 4GB of RAM and the 64 bit can access all of it, you will still wind up with something less than 4GB of "user" useable RAM. The only way it would really do you any good is to have more than 4GB of RAM.

I have 8GB of RAM and after bootup I only have a little over 6GB of RAM free.
