Solved Need password manager for a small company

I have searched this forum using the key words: password manager. I find posts over a year old. So I decided to post this question:


I have a client who has 6 computers all running Windows 7 Pro in a peer to peer network (no server). Firefox is the browser on all the computers. The users have a habit of clicking on the "remember me" box because they do not want to type in the password to websites which require a log in.


I am not an expert on password managers.


Question:

What password manager would you choose for inexperienced computer users and why?

FWIW, I've been using Bitwarden Password Manager (I.e., the individual $10 a year plan) for the past couple of years. The Bitwarden extension is installed in my Firefox browser.

For an old guy like me...Bitwarden is relatively easy to use and the coding is also open-source (If that is of interest).
There are free and paid versions,. Plans are available for individual users, as well as, multiple-users, and Business/Enterprise folks.

Don't know if this helps, but Firefox recently came out with Lockwise.

I use StickyPassword's product. I have a long "heimdal" password. After a good testing, once I know it really is going to treat me well, I plan to delete all passwords from my three browsers on both laptops, one samsung galaxy tab a, and one LGk40.
However, there are many very good fee and free password managers, test some, pick one, just don't use a "heimdal" password listed as being in the top one hundred EZ to break passwords.

Unless the users plan to use for passwords outside the web, or they need to share a common set of passwords, I would say that they simply continue to use the built in "password manager" of Firefox. My rationale is that, even though it's MUCH more insecure than a real password manager, so called "inexperienced" users don't care or know about security to try to use one. The most likely outcome being the users rejecting the new thing and keep using the "remember me" option.

Of course, if good security is required for the business, a security training is in order, and the notion of password manager (as opposed to "remember me" of browsers) will become known. I would begin this route is that's really desired.

Another possible use case is if you need to share passwords of common resources among people. The need for a tool will also become aparent here.

Can you explain more? Each person in the small business has their own computer. Can the Bitwarden be put on one computer where all can share?

I'm testing and getting used to StickyPassword. It was recommended by Heimdal Security, Heimdal Security - Proactive Cyber Security Software, and I got a small discount for signing up at the time specified. So far, it seems to be working and secure, it vacuumed into its system file every password it could find when I first activated it. More on this program later, as I learn more and more.

A password manager won't help here. Even if you have a password manager, the user is still able to select "Remember Me" - a password manager doesn't prevent that.

What you are trying to do here, is change user behaviour - a password manager doesn't do that.
