Need security advise .

Hi all.
I have Avast Internet security pro. which come with firewall ..
I'm thinking to buy superantispyware to use side by side with it ....
Would there be any conflicts since Avast already has malware included...?

As for another malware scanner, any protection you can add is a definite plus.

A lot of people here run Malwarebytes. It's free and it does a good job.

Well, having two real-time protection on simultaneously isn't recommended but from my experience, i can tell that the probability of happening something tragical is very low as your not using an AV with another AV. It's kinda using an AV with a supplement. Moreover the chances of something undesirable can also be toned down little by adding each other to their 'Exclude' list.

This is what I'm afraid of , Runnigng 2 malware programs at the same time .
I do have malwarebyte and superAntispyware "both free V" installed in case i need them.
I 'll hold off buying it ...let's see how Avast does.

Then your good to go. Just install a HIPS program like Winpatrol, if your comfortable with.

Both MBam and SuperAntiSpyware are good to have when you want to do an extended, full scan.
The freeware does not run in 'full time' to help protect you, but their definitions (if you update often) may find something that your regular Antivirus may not find.

I had been using Avast Free but got a good deal on NIS2011. I use MBAM and SuperAntiSpyware free versions and run them once a month to see if NIS missed anything. I also use WinPatrol which watches for any changes to my system.

I am running 2 realtime applications simultaneously without issues:

Microsoft Security Essentials and the licensed realtime paid version of Malware Bytes.

No sign of any conflict--possibly because they don't do exactly the same thing. MSE mostly anti-virus and MBAM anti-malware.

I ran the free version of MBAM and MSE without conflict also and was slightly concerned about moving to the realtime MBAM, but it has not been a problem. The paid version of MBAM updates 3 or 4 times a day automatically and I like not having to manually get the most recent updates.

For all due respect ....i don't consider MSE is a main security that i would rely on ..
I had it installed on my friend laptop "Well he asked for free" ...2 weeks later ..his laptop got infected all kind of viruses .. ended up to reinstall wds .:devil:
